Shot 7/25/16. Westinghouse Amrail R68 set 2860-2863, in service on the G, has been fitted with a pilot LED Passenger Information Display (PID) to both qualify the Chinese supplier; CRRC (China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation), and for possible retrofitting of the R68/R68A & R62/R62A fleets.

Today was this set's first day in service post LED electronic display retrofit. So far, it only displays the line, time, and the message "Thank you for riding with MTA New York City Transit!", but the system has the capability to display next stop info and play pre-recorded automated announcements, features that I presume will be activated in due time as testing progresses.

As a plus, 2862 is a nice, loud howler =)

This is arguably one of the longest Chicago 'L' videos to be uploaded to YouTube. This video starts at Cumberland in the middle of the Kennedy Expressway, and ends at Jackson in the Dearborn Street Subway. Hence, this video has some of the 'L' system's oldest and newest portions.

Intermediate stops are:
Harlem
Jefferson Park
Montrose
Irving Park
Addison
Belmont/Kimball
Logan Square
California
Western
Damen
Division / Milwaukee
Chicago / Milwaukee
Grand / Milwaukee
Clark / Lake
Washington / Dearborn
Monroe / Dearborn
Jackson / Dearborn

Some other notes:

At 16:05, you will hear the loud whistle of another train as our train enters Addison. That appears to be an out-of-service train bypassing Addison at speed.

Of note, this video is kind of dated given that you can see 2200s on at least two of the trains our train meets on the way (such as the outbound train I catch at Cumberland) and the 2200s only had a few months left on their service lives when this was filmed. Of note, on the Cumberland outbound train is car #2320, which Chicago-l.org says is being used in Transformers IV, while #2319 was scrapped.
