Bismarckplatz is a station on the lines U17 and U18.
The station opened on May 28, 1977.

Fun Fact: The station received a major artistic makeover in 2013 by the graffiti artists "Farbwandel": long, colorful murals form a visual timeline of Essen’s and other cities' public transport history, featuring motifs such as early tramcars, classic EVAG vehicles, the entrance of a Paris metro station and a clock modeled after the one in New York's Grand Central station. The work on the wall had to take place at night between 11:30 pm and 3:30 am, when the subway service was suspended.
